Osun 2026: APC Projects Unity, Insists Tinubu, Oyetola Fully Back Oyebamiji’s Governorship Bid

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has dismissed speculations of cracks within its leadership ahead of the August 15 governorship election, insisting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, remain firmly committed to the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

The reassurance came from APC chieftain, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, while addressing journalists on Sunday during the party’s campaign tour of communities in the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.

Oyintiloye described reports alleging that President Tinubu and Oyetola had distanced themselves from Oyebamiji’s campaign as “false and misleading,” accusing political opponents of attempting to sow discord within the party.

He maintained that both leaders have continued to provide strategic direction and political support for the APC campaign, expressing confidence that the party remains united and well-positioned to reclaim power in the state.

“President Tinubu and our leader, Adegboyega Oyetola, have never relented in their support for Bola Oyebamiji. Anyone suggesting otherwise is merely spreading falsehood to mislead the public. The APC remains united, focused and determined to reclaim Osun,” he said.

The former lawmaker said the party’s national and state leadership had remained actively involved in campaign activities, adding that the APC was working cohesively towards securing victory at the polls.

He identified prominent party leaders, including former Governor Chief Bisi Akande, APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru and the Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, as key figures contributing to the party’s campaign efforts.

Oyintiloye urged party members across the state’s 30 local government areas and the Area Office in Modakeke to intensify grassroots mobilisation, engage directly with voters and promote the achievements of the Tinubu administration at the federal level, Oyetola’s record as governor and Oyebamiji’s development agenda.

He also cautioned against political violence, intimidation and other acts capable of undermining the credibility of the electoral process.

According to him, campaigns should be driven by ideas, policies and practical solutions rather than hostility and fear.

“Maiming, extrajudicial killings and every form of politically motivated violence intended to intimidate voters or suppress the people’s will must be rejected. Democracy thrives where elections are peaceful and citizens are free to make their choices,” he said.

Oyintiloye further stressed that electoral victory would be determined by effective grassroots engagement rather than online campaigns alone.

“This election will not be won on social media alone. We must continue to visit our communities, polling units and households with our message of hope, good governance and development,” he said.

Expressing confidence in the APC’s chances, he described Oyebamiji as a capable leader with the experience and vision required to accelerate development in Osun State.

He therefore called on party members to remain united and committed to the collective goal of returning the APC to power in the August 15 governorship election.

“The victory of Bola Oyebamiji is a collective project. With the support of President Tinubu, the leadership of Adegboyega Oyetola, the commitment of our stakeholders and the goodwill of the people of Osun, we are confident of victory,” Oyintiloye added.
