Osun NAWOJ Urges Parents To Take Better Responsibility For Their Children As Muslims Mark Eld-el-Kabir
As Muslim faithfuls across the globe celebrate the occasion of Eld el Kabir festival today, parents have been urged to be sacrificial in making sure that their children are giving the best care in every area of their lives.
In a release jointly signed by the chairperson and secretary of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Osun State, Mrs Motunrayo Ayegbayo and Mrs Florence Babasola respectively, the association noted that Eid el Kabir is all about a sacrificial live and act of perseverance exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
Osun NAWOJ reminded parents that, as custodians of those precious God’s gifts, they will one day give account of them to their creator, hence, the need to give them the best in all ramifications.
According to NAWOJ, “This trying period facing our nation will soon pass, things will be back to normal, children will go back to school, therefore the Sallah celebration must be moderate, having in mind the expenses to be incurred on our children’s education very soon.
“Parents should be sacrificial in looking after their wards, not to be carried away by the anxiety of this present time, they should always keep a close tab on them to avoid being a prey in the hand of wicked people moving around in our society now.
“Parents should also use the Sallah period to ask for God’s mercy in healing our land of this Corvid-19 pandemic that is distracting the academics of our children and also cooperate with government in making sure they stay safe with their entire household”
Osun NAWOJ members wish the country quick recovery from Corvid and pray for more celebration of Sallah festival in perfect health.
