Poll Opens as Electorates Votes in the Governorship, House of Assembly Elections

The conduct of Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections have begun across the 17 Local Government Areas in Plateau State.
Citymirrornews correspondent reported that most polling units visited commenced accreditation and voting early compared to what transpired in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
In Jos North, Jenta Adamu ward, Riyom Drive (PU 016), the INEC officials arrived at 7:20 am while accreditation and voting commenced by 8:30 am. The process was orderly and peaceful, the BVAS is functioning well. The Party agents and security are present.
In Turaki, Langtang South LGA, voting commenced around 9 am.
At Madaki 2, Panyam Ward, Mangu GA, accreditation and voting commenced around 8:50 am.
At Doemak Koplong Ward
Qua’An Pan LGA, accreditation and voting commenced a few minutes after 9:00 am.
The poll opened at 8:10 am and accreditation/voting commenced at 9:31 am at Barkin Ladi, Ward 12, PU 022 (GSS Kara).
Accreditation and voting started at 9:26 am at Mangu Ward 001, Mangu LGA.
In Mikan LGA, PU 007 (Lamder), 005 (Ward Koenoem A) accreditation and voting commenced around 9 am.
At PU 31-15-07-002 Community Hall Riyom, accreditation and voting commenced at 9:29 am.
Accreditation and voting commenced at MCS quarters Zarazon Jos East, at exactly 9:40 am.
In most PUs in LGAs visited by our correspondent, the BVAS is working well.
However, there was a widespread early low turnout of voters as reported at the jerek polling unit, 051 Jos South LGA, Unit 001, Panyam Street, Jos North LGA, and PL/31/06/03/077 Jigirin among others.
While the turnout of voters has been generally low, the conduct has been peaceful so far.
