Yoruba Group Hails Tinubu Victory, Urges Him To Unite Nigeria
A sociocultural group, Yoruba Progressives Forum (YPF), has congratulated the winner of the just concluded Presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The group, in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji AbdulLateef Olalekan, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, Osun State described Tinubu’s victory as well deserved.
The group commended Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for displaying what it termed unwavering capacity and requisite doggedness before and during the electioneering campaign.
According to the statement, Tinubu remains the best candidate for the top job, based on his past experience in both public and private sectors and his antecedents as a democrat and dependable leader of note.
On behalf of the members of the Yoruba Progressives Forum I hereby congratulate the Presidential-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the winner of the just concluded presidential election in Nigeria.
“While congratulating the president-elect, it is important to note that democracy is a very rigorous journey that required patience and time to get optimum result from the electoral processes.
“As a nation, we can’t wait to become perfect before we start because every venture starts with imperfection.”
“We want to urge our president to use his position to unite Nigerians and bring unprecedented development to the country.
“We believe so much in the ability of Jagaban and that was why we took it upon ourselves to canvass for Asiwaju across the country then , even when Asiwaju has not come out to make his presidential ambition known to the public.
“We have hope that the President-elect, going by his antecedents as the former Lagos State Governor will use his wealth of experience to bring remedy to current predicament being faced by Nigerians.
“Nigeria needs a civilized and cosmopolitan personalty like Tinubu to set the nation’s economy on the path of prosperity and sustainable growth.
He, however, urged people of the country on the need to synergized among themselves at this critical time to foster peace and unity despite our differences.
“We hope that the incoming government will provide easy accessibility to dividends of democracy for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe or ethnicity, he added.
The group however urged the aggrieved politicians and other three presidential contenders to concede defeat and support the winner so as to jointly take the country to the greater heights.
YPF appealed to aggrieved politicians to seek redress in court instead of indulging in action capable of causing crisis in the country.
