Tragedy As Four Family Members Die After Eating Cassava Flour Meal
Tragedy befell the people of Mopa-Muro Local Government Area of Kogi State after four family members met their death after allegedly consuming a yam flour meal which is popularly called ‘Amala’.
The Informant247 notices that the incident happened barely two (2) months when five persons died after consuming a cassava flour meal which was prepared at their family house in Usugnwe-Okaito, Okehi Local Government Area of the state.
The Informant247 gathered that the victims were the father, his two daughters, and a family member.
The tragic incident happened between Friday, September 30, and Sunday, October 2nd, 2022.
Members of the affected community have been thrown into sadness as they continue to call for a quick intervention and investigation to uncover the circumstances behind the mysterious death of the four family members.
A source that witnessed the sad happening told newsmen that the victims fell sick overnight after consuming ‘amala’.
He added that all efforts to normalize their body system were not successful when they were all hospitalized to ECWA Hospital, Egbe, for necessary medical care.
It was gathered that they all gave up the ghost between Friday and Sunday.
The mother of the house, who’s referred to as Molomo, who also consumed from the meal, is currently receiving medical attention and close examination at ECWA Hospital Egbe.
It was also gathered that the community has suspended the burial of the four family members considering the suspicion that surrounds their demise.
“We are really saddened with the mysterious death of these four family members after eating cassava flour ‘amala’.We suspect that someone may have poisoned the food. The community have decided to suspend thier burial pending the outcome of our investigation over their mysterious death. This has never happened in our land. It is strange,” a community member told newsmen.
