Osun NIPR Elects New Executives

The Osun State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has elected Mr. Ademola Adesoji as the new chairman.
Ademola, who is the Public Relations Officer of Osun State University, Osogbo emerged as chairman during the chapter’s yearly general meeting held on Tuesday, 24th May, 2022 at the NIPR State Secretariat, Osogbo.
Other newly elected Executive include: Alhaji Muideen Adeleke, who emerged as the chapter’s vice chairman; Mrs. Funmi Adekoya, was voted General Secretary; Mrs. Kikelomo Owoeye was elected as Treasurer, Pastor Matthew Adegbongbe emerged as the chapter’s Auditor; Mr. Rufai Kehinde was elected Assistant Secretary; and Comrade Abisola Ariwodola was voted in as PRO.
In his acceptance speech, Ademola thanked those who voted for him and promised to deliver on all his campaign promises.
He pledged to draw on his wealth of experience to create the right visibility and partnership for the chapter.
“I feel happy and l know my emergence as Chairman is an act of God and the will of the people.
“The members have always clamoured for a professional that will move the state chapter to the next level, therefore I presented my agenda in line with this vision. Members were receptive to my plans and goals for the chapter, which made my enthronement as the chairman one backed by a vast majority of members.
“When I presented my manifesto yesterday tagged SPIN, which basically means Service, Professionalism, Initiative and New Members, it is with the zeal of myself and the rest of the executive to promote the service of public relations in the state, by bringing students and young professionals that are currently practicing to participate in the activities of council.
“There will be training and re-training for members to continually hone their skills to align with the demands of our digital world. Infusing professionals from the public and private sectors will also be entertained, as that will enable our chapter compete with members outside the state. Awards will also be given to professional Public Relations Practitioners who are doing well in their respective offices to spur them to do better, “he said.
He stressed the need for cooperation and synergy among members to maintain the flagship status of Osun NIPR.
The representatives of NIPR at the National level, Dr. Gbenga Abimbola while speaking on the AGM and election charged the newly elected officers and members to remain united so as to be able to take the NIPR to the next level.
