Osun NUJ State Information Chapel Gets New Executives

Com. Abdulganiyu Sofiu returns As Chairman

A new Executive for the State Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun Council,has been inaugurated.

Comrade Abdulganiyu Sofiu and Roseline Olawuni were returned and sworn in as Chairman and Secretary respectively for a second term as well as other exco memebrs.

The well attended inauguration had in attendance the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Public Enlightenment, Hon. Eniola Odeniyi, Chairman Osun NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu, the State Secretary, Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin among others.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Hon. Eniola Odeniyi while congratulating the new Chapel officers urged journalists to strive to use their power to create peace and harmony in the society through their reportage.

He assured journalists in the State of the present administration’s support, stressing that the Ademola Adeleke administration will not gag the Press but rather allow them to carry out their job effectively.

In his address, the State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu urged the executives of the State Information Chapel to work assiduously for the unity and growth of the Chapel and the State Council at large.

Delivering his acceptance speech, Chairman, State Information Chapel of Osun NUJ, Comrade Abdulganiyu Sofiu promised members of better representation in his second term.

He said his second term as Chairman will usher in better ways of doing things for the progress of members and the Chapel at large.

Other members of the newly inaugurated excecutive include: Comrade Olamilekan Fatanmi, Vice Chairman; Mr Bamidele Wahab, Assistant Secretary; Mrs Funmilayo Moradeyo, Treasurer; Mr Abdul Wasi Babalola, Financial Secretary while Mr Olamilekan Rasak was sworn as the Internal Auditor.
