Embrace Alternative Dispute Resolution, Osun NSCDC Urges Charges Citizens
The Head of Peace and Conflict Management unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Assistant Commandant Abere Oluwafemi has urged the citizens of Osun State to embrace Alternative Dispute Resolution for non-criminal cases.
Speaking on NSCDC TV show ‘The Defender’, anchored by the Corps Media Officer Atanda Olabisi, ACC Abere highlighted some successes mediation on civil cases like marital/family dispute , Rent and land disputes, breach of contract/agreement etc
The TV program is organized by the Corps to promote, educate and showcase the activities of the Corps and other Sister Agencies.
Representing the State Commandant, Ocheja Emmanuel, Abere discussed about Mediation, a procedure in which participants discuss their disputes with the assistance of a trained impartial third persons who assists them in reaching a settlement.
His 2i/c who accompanied him on the program CSC Oluwakemi Anjorin buttressed the need to settle non criminal cases out of court.
The State Commandant, Ocheja Emmanuel stated that trained desk officers/mediators has been deployed throughout the divisional stations in the State for prompt mediation.
