Keep Your Virtues Intact As Believers – SPAC General Overseer

The General Overseer of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC) Ibadan, Prophet S.A. Adegboyega has admonished believers to keep their virtues unpolluted and be good ambassadors of God wherever they find themselves.

This was the admonition of the renowned minister of God during the 70th birthday party held in honour of Elder Olusakin Babalola by his family members.

Prophet Adegboyega pointed out that human character is like smoke which follows people about anywhere they go, adding that genuine children of God should lead their lives in accordance with the guidelines of God. The SPAC G.O thanked all those present at the three-in-one event for their tributes about the celebrant, praying that he would celebrate more years on earth in good health and quality service for God.

At the event, a book written by one of the celebrant’s children, Mr. Oluwanifemi Babalola, which was titled Stories From My Father was also launched while an online news medium, Spheres News was equally unveiled during the programme.

The 1975/1980 Old students set of Origbo Community High School Ipetumodu in Osun State described Babalola as a good English Literature teacher who positively impacted their lives. Prophet Michael Kayode Owolabi of the University of Ibadan said he was impressed by the teaching of English Literature by the celebrant pleading that he should keep on his industry and humility.

Also, Professor Tayo Adesina, a former Dean of History Department at the University of Ibadan alluded to Babalola’s teaching of mob action in the assassination of Julius Caesar by conspirators and the mistaken identity of one Cinna the poet who was torn to pieces by the mob said “he was a good teacher”. Other old students who sent messages of goodwill included Mr. Mathew Oladimeji from London United Kingdom and Chief Olusegun Alo, the Atayese of Erunwon Kingdom, Ijebu in Ogun state. Professional colleagues such as Elder J.Adetoye and Mr. Olabode Akinbode, both senior editors in Oodua News as well as the likes of Mr. Sam Adurogboye, the Spokesperson of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Otunba Gbenga Amola and Mr. Tunde Muraina also sent in congratulatory messages.

Family members and friends both at home and in diaspora which included Barrister Tomi Olutunfese from Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Ajibola Lawal from the United States, Mr. Oladele Lawal from the UK, Pastor Mrs. G.B. Ige, the Durosaro Family, Mrs. Aderinsola Adediran from London, Elder Simeon Adedeji, Dr.Jumoke Ogunmola, Mrs. Adenike Ojo and others also sent their good will.

The executives of the Oyo state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) led by Comrade Demola Babalola were also present at the occasion where he urged journalists to learn from the experience of the veterans, adding that they should promote and sustain the image of the profession despite the hazards of the calling.

The NUJ boss popularly called Dembab described the celebrant as a veteran journalist who is very passionate about Journalism profession pointing out that he could be described as an encourager.

Dignitaries present at the event included among others, Pastor C.A. Adegboyega, immediate elder sister of the celebrant, Pastor Bayo Adegboyega, Reverend Dapo and Pastor Lola Adegboyega from the UK, Dr.(Mrs)Tosin Dosumu, Pastor Amos Akinlabi Ishola, Pastor Bola Agunbiade, Pastor Elvis Ekogwe, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olasunkanmi, Evangelist Dupe Oyetade, Evangelist Victoria Babalola, Evangelist Moyin Olulola, Dr. Biola Omokabi Deaconess Toyin Akinbode, Senior Deacon Z.A. Oyeniran, Pastor Akin Adekanye, Deaconess Florence Ogunmola, Deacon Samson Olugbola, Pastor Toyin Alegbeleye and Mrs. Oludayo Olumide, senior French tutor.

The prayer warriors of the Gospel Faith Mission (GOFAMINT), Glory Centre Annexe 1, the celebrant’s place of worship, were also fully represented.
