By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
A traditional ruler in Osun State, Olukoyi of Ikoyi land in Isokan South Local Council Development Area, Oba Yisau Bantale Oyetunji Otunla, Kodaolu 1, has congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Oba Oyetunji in a Sallah message he personally signed and made available to journalists in Ikoyi on Sunday felicitated Muslims in Osun and entire country as they join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate this year Eid-el-Fitr
The revered monarch urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitir celebration to pray for an end to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Olukoyi enjoined all citizens, irrespective of their religious beliefs to use the occasion to embrace one another for peace and unity to thrive.
Oba Oyetunji who attributed the outbreak of covid-19 and other challenges such as insecurity which he said had posed threat on the peace and unity of the people across the globe to perpetual sin and aberration, charged Muslims to use this period to seek God’s mercy.
“Pray to Almighty God to bring to an end this dreaded COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges facing the country.
“While you pray, please observe the precautionary measures put in place by government aimed at preventing the spread of Coronavirus disease,’’ he said.
The monarch urged Muslims to reflect and put into practise lessons learnt during the Ramadan.
