Osun Election Violence Victims: Adeleke’s Relief Committee Takes Compensation Drive To 10 Radio Stations

– To Make Special Appearance On Radio Stations Tomorrow

The Osun State Election Violence Relief Committee set up by Governor Ademola Adeleke will tomorrow Saturday embark on a special radio programme across about 10 stations in the three senatorial districts of the state to enlighten victims of election-related violence on the compensation process.

The one-hour programme, scheduled to hold between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., will provide members of the committee an opportunity to explain the arrangements put in place to identify and compensate verified victims of violence before, during and after the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

A statement issued by the Secretary of the Committee, Mr Olusola Sonibare, on behalf of the Chairman, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, said the radio appearance was designed to provide the public with detailed information about the committee’s assignment.

According to the statement, the committee will use the programme to explain the procedures victims are expected to follow to access compensation from the state government.

The committee’s primary mandate is to facilitate compensation for persons whose losses are verified to have resulted from election-related violence before, during and after the August 15 governorship election.

The statement urged members of the public, particularly individuals who suffered injuries, property damage, loss of belongings or other forms of verified losses in connection with the election, to tune in to the participating radio stations.

Listeners will also have the opportunity to participate in the programme through a dedicated telephone number to be provided by the radio stations.

The programme will equally be accessible to people within and outside Osun State through social media platforms and Radio Garden, allowing a wider audience to follow the committee’s explanations and ask questions.

The committee’s secretariat is located at the Osun State House of Assembly Complex, Osogbo.

The committee urged members of the public to take advantage of the programme to obtain first-hand information about its mandate, documentation requirements and the procedures for submitting claims.

The radio engagement is expected to provide further clarification on the government’s efforts to address losses suffered by verified victims of election-related violence and promote healing and reconciliation across the state.
