Who Is A Warrior? By Abimbola Abatta

He shackles his fears and undauntedly faces his foes, He’s scared deep inside of him, but his strength overwhelms his fears, he has seen death in its gory attire, he dines with darkness as it vomits dark horrors Yet, he faints not A warrior is a soldier, his greatest weapon lives in courage, Though he has swords and guns, he never tires of his weapon of courage, he girds it around his loins

Hunger pummels him with its savage fists, lions, leopards besiege his tent while rests in the wilderness,
He takes his sword with courage and engulf his wild enemies with fury
His eyes have seen corpses, scattered on the land like a heap of dirt,
Some floating on the sea of blood,
The piercing screams of dying souls haunt his sleep,Demons of wars visit him with nightmares, he wakes, shivering like a drenched cat, as terror paints his face Yet his strength never fails him

Loneliness eats up his days, as he fights with the enemies
Weeks turn into years, he never halts nor cease to fight
His heart is fixed, even if he’s a lone soldier, he won’t quit

He recalls how death grabbed his friends, wrenched out their guts, making them food for owls
The grim reaper ripped off his heart in a deadly pull,
His soul is tormented by horrors upon horrors
Yet, he neither quits nor faints
Courage never deserts him in the fight against foes
He sees victory, that’s his prize
And he’ll pay the price to taste the filling fruits of victory.

In life, everyone is a warrior, fighting against visible and invisible enemies. Challenges visit us each day, but the warrior in us never bow to challenges.

We’ve been through a lot, but we don’t look like what we’ve been through. We are still passing through tough times, but we are assured of victory.

We are warriors, we don’t sleep on the battlefield; we fight and fight until we regain the crown. We fight without relenting. Yes, we are so scared, but courage sits on our heart. And regardless of the fears, we’ll keep fighting.

Remember friends, we are warriors, and warriors don’t bow to challenges.
