Oyetola Meets Commissioner Nominees From APC, SDP

By Segun Adejumo, Osogbo
Some commissioner nominees from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) had been invited to Government House, Osogbo, CityMirrorNews learnt.
The purpose of the invitation, according to sources at the Government House, was for the nominees to meet with Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for familiarization.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the invited nominees were those that are not known to Governor Oyetola and those he knows at distance.
Another source added that not all the invitees would be considered for the commissioner appointment, noting that some of them would be Special Advisers while some would be given board appointments.
According to the sources, the invitees were interviewed by Governor Oyetola, the Deputy Governor, Gboyega Alabi, Director General of the IleriOluwa Campaign, Hon Ajibola Famurewa and former House of Representatives member, Prof Mojeed Alabi.
Among the invited nominees were Deputy Governorship Candidate of the SDP in the last governorship election, Mr Yemi Lawal, former Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, Mr Segun Olanibi, former House of Reps member, Hon Nathaniel Agunbiade, Mr Tunde Olawale, among others.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the ‘familiarization meeting’ was put in place by the “IleriOluwa caucus’, which advised Oyetola to know all the nominated candidates before appointing them.
It was noted that none of the popular commissioner nominees like Engr Remi Omowaiye, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, Dr Obawale Adebisi, Sola Oladepo and others was at the meeting.
The governor met the nominees on Tuesday and Wednesday at the government House.
