Ondo Community Commends Akeredolu Over Road Projects, Seek Action On Awara Dam

The Ikare Akoko Council of Chiefs under the Owa-Ale, Oba Kolapo Adegbite-Adedoyi has commended the performance of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration in the areas of massive infrastructural development in the last two and half years.
The Ikare Council of Chiefs which stated this in a Communiqué issued on Sunday at the end of its monthly town meeting held at the Palace of Owa-Ale, specifically expressed deep appreciation to Akeredolu for the reconstruction of Hilly Oke Alabojuto and dualization project of Ikare township road.
The Community leaders in the communiqué signed by the Olokoja of Okoja, High Chief Idowu Ogunye; the Olona of Okegbe, High Chief Rafiu Okunade and Onikun of Iku, High Chief Mukaila Bello, however appealed to the governor to urgently look into the deplorable condition of Awara dam and Okoja-Iku Ikare road which has become impassable.
The communiqué reads, “the Council commends Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo state for wonderful job on the reconstruction of Oke-Alabojuto, ongoing dualization of Ikare township road as well as renovation of some schools buildings in our town.”
“The Council notes with concern the deplorable condition of Okoja-Iku to Ikare Stadium road and pleads with His Excellency, Arakunrin Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu to extend his road construction revolution to the road which also leads to Awara dam.”
“The Council of Chiefs under Owa-Ale also thanks our amiable governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu for keeping to his electioneering promises especially to the people of Ikare-Akoko, so far you have not disappointed us.”
“We use this medium to again appeal you to resuscitate Awara Dam and abandoned Ikare township Stadium which used to supply potable water to most part of Akokoland but that has been abandoned by successive administrations.”
The Council also commended the President of Ondo State 130 Krown Obas and Owa-Ale of Ikare Akoko, Oba Kolapo Adegbite-Adedoyin for always striving hard for peaceful coexistence of among residents and development of the town.
“On behalf of the people of Ikare and Kabiyesi Owa-Ale, the Council thanks Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, for appointing our son Hon Fatai Olotu as Commissioner for Ondo State Ministry of Land and Housing.”
