We Have Taken Proactive Steps To Curtail Incidents Of Kidnapping, Banditry In Our Zone-AIG Oyebade

The Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 11,Mr.Adeleye Oyebade has assured the residents of Oyo ,Ondo, and Osun states and travellers travelling along the states the activities of kidnappers and bandits in the zone will be effectively curtailed.

Oyebade who spoke yesterday in Osogbo said that police have taken proactive steps to address the incidents of kidnapping and other criminalities in the zone.

He recalled that last week “we promised to put in place necessary security m measures to check the menace of kidnappings and other heinous crimes along the highways.Such promise wa s not made as another rhetoric.

The AIG revealed that the Zone has deployed more patrol teams of the safer highways,the Operation Puff Adder and the intelligence unit to checkmate the activities of the criminals.

“All these backed by support of police has graciously approved the deployment of additional units of mobile policemen to complement existing apparatus put in place,he said

Oyebade further disclosed that he had just held a serious strategic meeting with three Commissioners of police in the three states,Area Commanders,and Divisional Police Officers having jurisdiction in those areas.

“At the said meetings ,we had a fruitful engagement with leaders of Fulani and Hausawa domiciled in the affected areas as well as other stakeholders.We have also extended invitation to leadership of Miners Association in the Zone.

He warned ” As for criminal elements whose activities have continued to be pains in the fragile necks of law abiding citizens,we already have antidote for their ailment,ruthless confrontation.And we shall continue to confront them until they are finally flushed out”
