Ekiti Deputy Speaker, Adewumi Urges Fayemi To Protect Indivisibility Of Ekiti People
The Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Segun Adewumi has appealed to Governor Kayode Fayemi to protect the indivisibility of the Ekiti people during his tenure.
In a message signed by his Media Assistant, Mr ‘Nitan Akinola to usher the governor to office, Mr Adewumi also admonished him to give attention to all uncompleted projects by his predecessors because government is a continum.
According to him, one of the challenges of development in Nigeria is the trend of abandoning projects by successive governments not minding the colossal waste it represents on the tax payer’s resources.
On the need to promote the oneness if Ekiti State, the Deputy Speaker noted that struggle for power would naturally generate intense emotions as it was the case in recent time in the state, but such should be maturely managed to preserve the value of homogeneity of the people.
He also admonished the governor to relate with the House of Assembly as an indispensable institution of government and not as individuals members on the basis of their political party so as to promote harmonious working relationship in the interest of the state.
Mr Adewumi said the PDP members of the Assembly were committed to the progress of Ekiti State, which is only achievable in an atmosphere of tranquility and peaceful working relationship of all the governmental institutions.
The Deputy Speaker also congratulated former governor Ayo Fayose for the successful completion of his tenure in office, noting that he would be remembered for the impacts he made in the state.
The legislator however appealed to the people of Ekiti State to support the incumbent in the overall interest of the state.
