I Never Participated In The APC Primaries – Adeoti
The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), for the September 22 gubernatorial election in Osun state, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, has said he did not participate in the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) primary election.
Adeoti who was the former member of the ruling APC in the state was reacting to the rumour making the round that he actively participated in the primaries.
In a press statement issued by Mr Kayode Agbaje, Director of Media and Publicity of Moshood Adeoti Campaign Organization (MACO) the ADP standard bearer backed out of the APC governorship primaries 24 hours to the said primaries.
The statement read in part: “The Contrary to a rumour emanating from some quarters in Osun State that the current governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti actually participated in the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) the Moshood Adeoti Campaign Organization (MACO) wishes to state that the rumor only exists in the imagination of its masterminds.”
“We also want to put it on record that Alhaji Adeoti’s action of backing out of the APC governorship primaries was publicly made over 24 hours to the said primaries.”
“The acclaimed APC governorship primaries was a process that actually fell short of any democratic standard. ”
“Our principal therefore decided, after due consultation with his teeming supporters, to withdraw from the process in view of the jaundiced nature it was programmed to achieve. ”
“In addition to this, Alhaji Adeoti withdrew from primaries in order not to give undeservedly credibility to a jaundiced process that was programmed from the beginning to favour the current APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola. ”
“Haven critically observed which of the available political parties in the state upholds the basic democratic standards, the ADP was chosen among the lot and today, it has grown to become the nightmare of the ruling-All Progressives Congress in the state. ”
