Redeemed Christian Church Of God Clergyman, Pastor Olapade Wins Accord Party Primary

A Redeemed Christian Church of God clergyman, Pastor Olapade Julius Okunola has been declared the winner of ACCORD PARTY primary held at Sazo International Hotels, Gbongan/Ibadan Road, Osogbo.
Okunola polled 141 votes to defeat Mr. Babatunde Loye who polled 58 votes and Mr. Bunmi Ibiloye who polled 12 votes.
“The primary exercise was witnessed by officers of the party from National headquarters led by BOT chairman, Rev. Adeniyi Ojo, North Central Vice-Chairman, Alhaji Saulawa Yusuf, Alhaji Dokun Babarinde, South-West Vice-Chairman, Otunba Segun Fanibe, Chairman, ACCORD Party, Osun State and Mrs.Kikelomo Adebisi.
Others are officials of Independent National Electoral Commission; Officers and men of Nigeria Police Force; Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps; Department of State Services and observers.”
215 delegates were accredited, 211 votes while four abstain.
Announcing the results; the returning officer of the primary election, Alhaji Dokun Babarinde implored the winner to be magnanimous in victory.
“Otunba Segun Fanibe, chairman, ACCORD Party, Osun State said he’s happy because all the contestants are qualified to govern Osun State but the seat is meant for only one person.”
Fanibe, however, implored the good people of Osun State who are yet to get their permanent voter’s card to please get it because it’s what will be used to effect change in the 22nd September Election.
