Osun APC Primary: Oyetola Appeals For Calm
Leading aspirant of All Progressive Congress(APC), Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has urged all members of APC to troop out en-masse for the tomorrow’s party primary while expressing confidence that the party has made adequate provisions for the smooth conduct of the primary, adding that Osun must serve as the best model for the direct primary.
He appealed to members of the party to conduct themselves peacefully and obey all the laid-down procedures by the committee constituted by the national leadership for the party in the conduct of tomorrow’s primary.
In a statement, signed by Dayo Fasola on behalf of Ileri Oluwa Campaign Organization, Oyetola said the success and credibility of tomorrow’s event is the responsibility of all registered members of the party.
He therefore urged his Local Government and Ward Coordinators across the state to mobilize party faithfuls to shun financial inducements of any sort and resist violence before, during and after the event.
The aspirant, who is also the Chief of Staff to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, said that the national leadership has provided the best and popular democratic opportunity for all party members to choose their gubernatorial flag-bearer through direct primary.
The statement added that tomorrow is critical in the history of the state of Osun, and must be seen as the decision about the future and prosperity of the state particularly consolidating on the giant strides recorded by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
As such, party members must united as a formidable entity and discourage all forms of division that are capable of derailing the current pace of development in the state.
