NGO Urges Stakeholders, Wealthy Nigerians to Intervene in Education

A Non Governmental Organization, Iwoland Development Coalition (IDC) has urged stakeholders and wealthy Nigerians to come to the rescue of fallen standard of education in Nigeria, saying that the government should not be left alone with the education sector.

The IDC maintained that well meaning Nigerians must contribute to the growth of education in the country, if they want their desires for standard education to come to pass.

Coordinator of the IDC, Mr Kabiru Adisa stated this at an education tour to some secondary schools in Iwo Federal Constituency, recently.

The tour was part of the IDC’s educational programme to acquire first-hand information on the status of the schools in the constituency and donate educational materials to the pupils and students

Adisa, who described the decay in the education sector as unpleasant, called on individuals to intervene in education through programmes aimed at promoting functional education and enhancing academic performance of the students.

The academic tour covers six selected Secondary Schools from the three Local Governments constituting the constituency.

Academic materials such as text books, IDC customized notebooks; pen, etc were distributed to students.
