Police Arraign Bricklayer For Stealing Cloths, Others In Osun

Police in Osun have arraigned a 32-year-old bricklayer, Adekunle Shaheed before a State Magistrate Court sitting in Osun for allegedly stealing clothes, money and some household items.
Shaheed was arraigned on Thursday before the Magistrate court presided over by Mrs Adenike Olowolagba on four count charge bordering on attempting felony and stealing.
The prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the accused committed the offence on 30 and 3rd of September 2017 around 11.30 am at Onibueja area Ido – Osun in osogbo.
According to the prosecutor, the accused broke and entered into the house of One Oladipupo Johnson and stolen Dvd player valued 10,000, Baby clothes valued 10,000, dish plate and the sum of 120,000.
Briefing the court on the case, Abiodun said the accused on the 3rd of September also stolen a woman cloth valued 15,000
He explained that the offense committed by the accused was contrary to and punishable under Section 509, 411, 390 (9) 390 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume 11. Laws of Osun State 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the four count-charge stealing, felony allegation preferred against him.
The defense counsel, Okobe Najite applied for the bail of the accused in the most liberal terms.
He said the essence of bail was to allow the accused to face the trial at the court.
The magistrate, Mrs Olowolagba granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She thereafter adjourned the case till 28 Dept, 2017 for mention.
