YPF Congratulates Oyebanji On Second-Term Inauguration, Calls for Support For Tinubu’s Re-election Bid
The Yoruba Progressives Forum (YPF) has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his inauguration for a second term in office, describing the occasion as an opportunity to consolidate governance and advance the development of the state.
The group also called on the people of Ekiti State and the entire Yoruba nation to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general election.
The forum made the call in a congratulatory message issued following Oyebanji’s swearing-in alongside his deputy, Monisade Afuye, for another four-year tenure.
In the statement signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji AbdulLateef Olalekan, popularly known as Asiri Ede, YPF urged the governor to remain committed to policies and programmes that would improve the welfare of residents and promote sustainable development across Ekiti State.
The group described the inauguration as a significant milestone in the state’s political journey, expressing optimism that the governor would build on the experiences and initiatives of his first term to address the needs and aspirations of the people.
YPF also encouraged Oyebanji to sustain an inclusive approach to governance by engaging stakeholders, strengthening public institutions and prioritising projects capable of improving the living conditions of residents.
Congratulating the governor and his deputy, the forum wished them a successful second term and urged them to remain focused on delivering democratic dividends to the people of Ekiti State.
On the national political scene, the group called on Ekiti residents and Yoruba people across the Southwest and beyond to support President Tinubu’s second-term ambition, noting that the 2027 general election would provide an opportunity for Nigerians to assess the administration’s policies and direction.
The forum urged political leaders, traditional rulers, community organisations and other stakeholders across Yorubaland to promote peaceful political engagement and issue-based discussions as preparations for the next general election gather momentum.
It further called on supporters of the President to mobilise peacefully and engage citizens on the administration’s programmes, while encouraging constructive dialogue on the challenges confronting Nigerians.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to promoting political participation, unity and development across Yorubaland, urging leaders at all levels to make the welfare and aspirations of the people central to their decisions.
