Kwara APC Guber Candidate Danladi Receives INEC Nomination Form
The Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) has presented the party’s nomination form to its governorship candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Salihu Danladi.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony in Ilorin on Tuesday, the state Chairman of the party, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, said it was necessary for the state executive to formally present the nomination form to the party’s governorship candidate for completion and submission to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following the ratification of his victory at the primaries by the APC National Working Committee (NWC).
“Before now, we conducted the primaries. We have winners for the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and governorship elections, but the National Headquarters of our party directed that we should not announce them,” he said.
“The National Working Committee of our party has gone through all the processes, especially those involving petitions. Those who had complaints presented them before the Appeal Committee, which thoroughly reviewed them. The NWC has now confirmed the candidates, and it is our responsibility to hand over the forms for completion so they can be uploaded to the INEC portal. This is what we have done.
“The one we are unveiling today is that of our governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi. Therefore, on behalf of the National Chairman of our party, I hereby present this nomination form to our candidate.”
The presentation attracted applause from party elders, stakeholders, lawmakers, cabinet members and thousands of supporters.
In his remarks, Danladi thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the party leadership at both the national and state levels for the confidence reposed in him to fly the party’s flag in the 2027 governorship election.
He also appreciated his fellow aspirants for participating in the primaries and pledged to carry everyone along.
“We thank God Almighty, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of our party. We also thank the leader of our party in the state, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the state executive and other major stakeholders of the party,” Danladi said.
“Reconciliation is already ongoing, as is customary after party primaries. The 16 of us who contested understood that only one person would emerge as the winner, and now that a winner has emerged, it is our collective responsibility to work together. We will certainly carry everyone along.
“By the grace of God, the APC is one big family, and we are going to be more united and stronger. We thank the people of Kwara State for their support. We will not disappoint you, and may God Almighty continue to guide us.”
The ceremony was attended by members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, members of the State Executive Council, party executives, elders and women groups.
