Osun Guber Poll: APC Elders Caucus Dismisses Alleged Rigging Meeting

-Warns Accord To Desist From Spreading False Information

The elders caucus of All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun state codenamed ‘Igbimo Agba’ has disclaimed the purported rigging meeting alleged by Accord Party in the state, saying the press release issued by the ruling party in the state is nothing but baseless and meant to misinformed the entire populace in the state.

In a statement issued and signed by its chairman, Engr. Sola Akinwumi in Osogbo on Monday, the apex body in the state as unethical and politically motivated conjured lies captioned.

The statement reads; “Attention of the above body,APC, IGBIMO-AGBA OSUN, headed by Chief Engr Sola Akinwumi was drawn to an untrue and unsubstantiated press release emanated from the State Chairman of ACCORD PARTY, Osun State wing dated the 21st day of June, 2026 personally signed by Pastor Victor Akande as its Chairman”

“This body would not have reacted to the said release but in the interest of the unsuspecting innocent masses in Osun State and beyond, I thought it feat to clear the air on the unethical and politically motivated conjured lies captioned a press release.”

“The body holds its monthly statutory meeting usually in its Chairman’s House, Ilobu but this June edition was hosted by Baba Omo kekeke,H/E Chief Bisi Akande at his Ila-Orangun’s residence ,Ila,Osun State Nigeria on Friday 19th June, 2026 ”

“The meeting had in attendance as members dignified elder Statesmen of note many of who had laboured for the creation of Osun State ”

“It is saddened to note that most of the Osun State Government operators today did and do not know the quantum of efforts that went into the struggles for its creation otherwise such an unguided politically motivated release capable of setting the State on fire through heightened polity would not have been contemplated upon. It should be said here that personalities like Barr.Prince Adeleke Adebayo,aka BANIK and Engr. Remi Omowaye were never members of this body though they are reliable and respected members of our Party in Osun State whilst their inclusion in the press release equally showed unreliability of the said Press-release”

“The meeting discussed issues affecting APC as a family not how to rig Osun State Governorship election of 15th day of August, 2026.The body urges the public to disregard the release in its entirety but it also points to the evil plans of the ACCORD Party in Osun State towards the Guber election of 15th day of August 2026”

“I,therefore call on all Security agencies in Osun State to beam their Security searchlight on the suggestive undemocratic plans of the ACCORD Party,Osun State wing in order to nib in the bud any violence-based plan of the Party”

“Finally, I call on all citizens and residents of Osun State to reinforce their confidence and love for our Party, APC and its Candidate,Alh.Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji in the upcoming Governorship election of 15th day August, 2026”
