Osun Health Centres Lack Competent Personnel, AMBO Is the Solution- Bumac

The Chief Executive Officer of Victory Support Foundation, Chief Mrs Olubunmi Olufunmilayo Lawal, has criticised the state of healthcare centres in Osun State, saying many facilities lack competent personnel and adequate equipment.

She spoke on Tuesday during a free medical outreach organised by the foundation at the Ife Central Local Government Secretariat.

Lawal said the outreach was organised to support residents facing health challenges while also mobilising support for the governorship ambition of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, meaning Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

According to her, the current administration in Osun has not done enough in the health sector, alleging that healthcare centres across the state remain poorly staffed and unequipped.

“The major aim is to wipe tears away from the faces of people, and we are doing this to support the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, AMBO,” she said.

“We have a whole lot of health challenges in Osun, and Governor Ademola Adeleke is doing nothing. If you go to healthcare centres now, you will not see competent personnel, and the facilities are not well equipped.

“Our governor is not showing enough concern about the health sector and even roads leading to towns. People should come out in August and support AMBO because he has proven that he can deliver.”

She described Oyebamiji as a competent administrator, citing his performance during his time as Commissioner for Finance in Osun State.

“AMBO performed well when he was Commissioner for Finance. People testified to his good work. He knows the right thing to do at the right time. For him to be organising free medical outreach even before becoming governor shows that he can do more if elected,” she added.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Ife Central Local Government, Olamide Olagoke, commended the organisers of the outreach and described Oyebamiji as the right candidate for Osun State.

He urged residents to support the APC candidate in the forthcoming governorship election, saying the party remained committed to improving the welfare of the people.

The Secretary of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Osun State, Olubisi Oladosu, called for improved welfare for medical workers, noting that better remuneration would encourage healthcare personnel to remain committed to service delivery.

“Our government should encourage medical personnel by paying them well. When health workers are motivated, the healthcare system will improve,” he said.

Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Ife Central Local Government, Olugbaju Olanrewaju, praised the organisers and expressed confidence in the APC candidate.

“AMBO is a man without corruption allegations. He handled finances without any scandal, and that shows integrity. He has vision, he has focus, and he is worthy of support,” he said.

The Iyaloja of Ife Central, Falilat Lawal, also appreciated the organisers of the outreach and canvassed support for Oyebamiji ahead of the election.

She said the free medical outreach reflected concern for the wellbeing of the people, expressing confidence that Oyebamiji would deliver more developmental projects if elected governor.

“People should come out and vote for AMBO. This programme has shown that he cares about the health and welfare of the people. We believe he has the capacity and vision to move Osun State forward,” she said.
