#Southwest NAFSTS Conference 2026: Food Frontier Set To Inspire Next Generation Of Food Scientists
The Southwest zone of the Nigeria Association of Food Science and Technology Students is set to host one of the biggest gatherings of food science and technology students in Nigeria as students, professionals, innovators, and stakeholders prepare for the highly anticipated Southwest NAFSTS Conference 2026.
The conference, hosted by Osun State University in Osogbo, Osun State, will take place from June 8th to June 11th, 2026, with participants camping at Camp Young. The event promises an unforgettable combination of academic excellence, leadership development, networking, entrepreneurship, recreation, and innovation.
With the powerful theme “Food Frontier,” the conference seeks to explore the limitless opportunities and future possibilities within the food science and technology sector. The theme highlights the need for innovation, sustainability, food security, research advancement, and technological transformation in addressing modern food challenges in Nigeria and across Africa.
The event is expected to attract participants from various tertiary institutions across the Southwest and beyond, creating a platform for intellectual exchange, collaboration, and professional growth among students and experts in the field.
One of the major highlights of the conference is the caliber of dignitaries expected to grace the occasion. Among the distinguished guests invited are the Executive Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke; the Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Otunba Babatola Faseru; the Osun State Commissioner for Education, Dipo Sunday Eluwole; and the Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Olagunju Moshood Olalekan.
The academic community will also be represented by renowned university administrators, including the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim, and the Vice Chancellor of Adeleke University, Professor Solomon Ajayi Adebola.
Leading the national body of the association is the National President of Nigeria Association of Food Science and Technology Students, Ayesinmi Oluwamoroti, whose administration continues to champion unity, innovation, and excellence among food science students nationwide.
