Osun 2026: Adeleke Has Failed Residents on Healthcare, Roads — VSF Founder
-As Group Holds Free Medical Outreach In Ife North
The Chief Executive Officer of Victory Support Foundation, Olubunmi Oluwafunmilayo Lawal, also known as Bumac, on Sunday accused the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of failing Osun residents in the areas of healthcare and road infrastructure, saying the growing hardship faced by people at the grassroots informed the decision to organise a free medical outreach in Ife North Local Government Area of the state.
Lawal, who spoke during the outreach held at the Ipetumodu Town Hall, said many residents has no access to free medical centres, due to the poor state of healthcare services, alleging that primary healthcare centres across the state lacked adequate drugs and personnel.
The outreach, organised by South West Support Group in collaboration with the Victory Support Foundation with support, featured free malaria tests, blood pressure checks, distribution of drugs, and free eyeglasses for residents with sight challenges.
According to Bumac, the South West Support Group remained the major pillar behind the initiative, providing financial support for the programme across different local governments in Osun State.
“The major reason behind this outreach is because people at the grassroots are complaining seriously about healthcare challenges. Many cannot afford hospital bills anymore, so we decided to bring free medical services closer to them,” she said.
She also criticised the state government over infrastructure, particularly roads linking rural communities, while endorsing the governorship ambition of Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ahead of the August 15, 2026 election.
Bumac described Oyebamiji as an experienced administrator who had performed creditably in previous public offices, including as Commissioner for Finance and Chairman of OSICOL.
“He has served in different capacities and performed wonderfully well. That is why many people believe he can govern Osun successfully,” Bumac added.
The APC Chairman in Ife North Local Government, Hon Philip Adebiyi, commended the organisers for bringing the initiative to the community, describing it as a relief for residents facing health challenges.
“This programme is a good initiative for people who have difficulties with ailments. We appreciate the organisers for bringing it to our doorstep and encourage residents to take advantage of it because it is completely free,” he said.
Adebiyi also expressed support for the governorship aspiration of Oyebamiji, saying the APC candidate had a vision capable of transforming Osun State.
Also speaking, APC stakeholder Olawale Olorunlano described the outreach as impactful, urging beneficiaries to support the APC in the forthcoming governorship election.
Women leaders in Moro Ward 8 and Moro Ward A, Ademola Florence and Falilat, equally praised the initiative, describing it as beneficial to residents of the local government, while two residents joined the All Progressives Congress during the outreach in appreciation of the programme.
Residents who attended the event were seen receiving medical consultations, drugs, malaria testing, blood pressure checks, and eyeglasses, as beneficiaries applauded the organisers for the intervention.
