Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has warned against reported threats to peace and security of lives and properties at Ikirun, directing the Commissioner of Police to contain alleged nefarious activities against kingmakers and leaders of thought in the town.
A statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said the governor was responding to a save of our soul message from some Ikirun leaders who alleged that unidentified security men have been harassing the kingmakers since early this morning without any justification.
The governor warned against any action that may jeopardise the peace of the town, calling on police authorities to secure the palace, the kingmakers and residents of the town.
“I direct the state police command to protect kingmakers and stop the reported harassment of the leaders in the town. We must not jeopardise the prevailing peace in the town”, the statement noted.
