IBEDC Announces Appointment Of Mr. Deolu Ijose As MD/CEO
Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Deolu Ijose as its new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.
His appointment, according to a statement signed by Angela Olanrewaju , Coordinating Head Corporate Services, IBEDC, follows the recent reconstitution of the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Ijose succeeds Engr. Francis Agoha, FNSE.
Bringing extensive industry experience to his new role, Mr. Ijose previously served as Managing Director of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) and as Chief Commercial Officer at IBEDC. His deep sector knowledge and familiarity with IBEDC’s operations position him to effectively lead the Company through its next phase of growth and transformation.
Commenting on the appointment, the Board expressed confidence in Mr. Ijose’s ability to consolidate on existing gains while driving improved performance across the business.
In his remarks, Mr. Ijose stated: “I am honoured to lead IBEDC at this critical time. We will build on the foundation already in place by prioritising operational efficiency, strengthening commercial discipline, and delivering improved service to our customers. Our success will be driven by teamwork, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence.”
With the appointment, IBEDC reaffirms its commitment to delivering improved electricity supply while deepening stakeholder collaboration, investing in infrastructure, and leveraging technology to improve customer experience.
