Insecurity: DSS Uncovers Plans To Abduct School Children In Edo, Arrest 1 Suspect
The Department of State Services (DSS) Edo State Command has uncovered a plot to abduct school children in Edo North Senatorial district.
The secret police also arrested one suspect, Emmanuel Momidu, 25, who was apprehended while allegedly conducting surveillance at Makeke Secondary School in Makeke, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of the state.
The Service, in a statement signed by B. Agada on behalf of the State Director, and addressed to the State Commandant, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps said plot of mass abduction of school children by bandits was uncovered during an interception of conversation between one Bawa from Zamfara State and of Fulani extraction and one Nuhu.
The statement disclosed that plans to carry out the mass abduction of children was because “previous attempts to kidnap wealthy individuals had not yielded the expected financial gains.”
