Akire Of Ikire Joins Ancestors
The Akire of Ikire in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State , Oba Olatunde Falabi has joined his ancestors.
Oba Falabi, died at the age of 91, throwing the ancient town of Ikire into mourning.
Akire of Ikire, was said to have passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, barely a month after celebrating his 91st birthday in January.
Details surrounding his death were still sketchy as of press time, and no official statement had been issued by the palace or the state government.
Before his ascension to the throne, Oba Falabi distinguished himself as a pharmacist, entrepreneur and farmer.
He also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Oba Falabi Foundation, Chief Executive Officer of Oba Falabi (Nig.) Ltd, and was a former Commercial Manager at Roche Nigeria Limited, Lagos.
