37-year-old Man Remanded Over Fraud Of N17m, Threat To Life Of Victim

‎A 37-year-old man, Adeleke Ayomide, has been ordered to be remanded at the ilesha correctional center for alleged fraud and threat to kill one Ayodele Opeyemi Kolawole.

‎The Police Prosecutor, inspector Fatoba Temitope informed the court that the defendant committed the offence between the month of June to December, 2025.

money by false pretences, stealing, threatening violence and conduct likely to cause breach of peace

‎According to the prosecutor, the defendant and others who are currently at large fraudulently presented themselves as the General manager of an international breweries in ilesha, vendor of property at Ibadan, which was false and defrauded Opeyemi of the sum of N17,000,000( Seventeen million Naira).

The Police further explained that Ayomide fraudulently obtained the said amount from his victim with account number 101049113, fcmb bearing Roluseun Inumidun Felicia and other bank details.

‎He further explained that, the defendant allegedly called the victim through a phone call and threatened to kill her, if she report what transpired between them to the police.

‎The offence, according to the prosecutor is contrary to and punishable under Section 516, 419, 122, 383 and 82(2)of the Criminal Code Cap 34 vol ll Laws of Osun State 2002.

‎The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the five-count charge levelled against him.

‎In his ruling, Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara ordered that the defendant be remanded at ilesha correctional center.

‎He, Therefore, adjourned the case till March 30,2026 for mention.
