Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested three individuals suspected to be kidnappers operating in the state.
The suspects identified as Umar, Muhammadu and Sabiu were apprehended during a routine stop-and-search operation at Ibule Junction along Ilara-Mokin Road, Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Jimoh Abayomi, during the stop-and-search, one machete, one locally fabricated revolver pistol and one live cartridge were found on the suspects, with a Bajaj motorcycle also recovered from them.
Abayomi disclosed that the operation became more observant as the suspects could not give a satisfactory explanation for being in possession of dangerous items.
While stressing that efforts have begun to track the remaining members of the gang, the police spokesperson disclosed that the arrested suspects were aiding the police in the investigation through their confessional statements.
