Defections: Wike Claims Credit For Tinubu’s Support Base In Rivers
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reacted to recent defections in Rivers State, insisting that he and his supporters spearheaded the state’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wike made the remark while reflecting on his choice of presidential candidate in the 2023 general election during a meeting with political leaders and stakeholders from Ahoada East and Ahoada West Local Government Areas.
The meeting was held in Ochigba community, Ahoada East Local Government Area.
He also hinted that political activities in Rivers State would gather momentum from January 2026, urging his supporters to remain calm and focused in the meantime.
