-As Governor Adeleke Urges Them To Get Their PVCS
Civil Servants and other adhoc staff under the payroll of Osun State Government have lauded Governor Ademola Adeleke for his prompt payment of workers’salaries despite the withholding of local government allocations.
The workers who received their September salaries early this morning could not hide their joy and excitement as they danced around the some parts of the Secretariat this morning, especially the Ministry of Transportation.
Comprising mostly of adhoc staff attached to the Ministry of Transportation which include O-TRAM, V.I.O, Imole bus workers who recently had their salaries increased were full of gratitude to the State Governor for his kind gesture.
They danced and described Governor Ademola Adeleke as God sent to them, stressing that they are surprised that the Governor is embarking on infrastructure development and taking care of people’s welfare even in the midst of the local government crisis which has led to the witheld allocations.
Speaking on behalf of the adhoc staff, Mr Wale Fabusuyi of O-TRAM said, “Honestly, Mr Governor has indeed shown that he is a man of the people and that he is a man of his words. He promised us through the Commissioner for Transportation that our welfare and salaries as adhoc staff will be improved and he has just fulfilled that promise.
“What makes it even more touching for us is that the increment in our salaries is coming at a time we did not expect it. It has come at a time when the Governor is being troubled over the local government allocations.
“We were surprised when we saw the credit alert of our salaries this morning and discovered that it has been increased as promised by the Governor. This is indeed wonderful to us.
“We are using this medium to assure the Governor that we will continue to stand by him through thick and thin, especially as regards his second term election, he is a man that deserves to be re-elected and together with our families we shall give him our votes”. He stated.
Addressing the adhoc staffs on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele assured them that their welfare will continue to be paramount in the administration.
He urged them to continue to remain steadfast and stand by the administration in all aspects because the Governor is ready to do more to put smiles on their faces if elected for a second term in office.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Salaam Hamid Adewale enjoined them to ensure that they go and register to collect their Permanent Voter’s Card so as to be able cast their votes for the Governor.
He also urged those who have one issue or the other with their PVCs to ensure that they take the opportunity of the ongoing voter registration exercise to correct the issue.
