Legacy Of Knowledge, Future Of Prosperity: Imole’s Education Agenda For Osun State By Femi Oluwasanmi
“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” —Malcolm X. This statement underscores the necessity of education as a fundamental component of a responsible and responsive government. The previous administration’s failure to acknowledge this truth has significantly contributed to the decline of educational standards in Osun State.
Before Senator Ademola Adeleke assumed office as Governor of Osun State, reports of inadequate salaries, promotions without corresponding remuneration, and deteriorating school facilities created a stifling atmosphere for both students and educators. However, this situation has changed under the governor’s visionary leadership.
Through innovative initiatives, the governor has revitalized the struggling education sector by increasing funding for state-owned universities and providing permanent employment status to university staff who had been on temporary contracts for years.
To foster a conducive learning environment, the governor has initiated the rebranding and upgrading of infrastructure in state-owned universities, equipping them with world-class facilities. Additionally, he is accelerating the construction of new classrooms and renovating the dilapidated buildings left by the previous administration in primary and secondary schools throughout the state.
To address the gap left by the previous administration’s failure to hire qualified personnel for the education system, the people-friendly administration led by the Imole of Ile Adulawo is in the process of recruiting over five thousand teachers for primary and secondary schools.
Furthermore, despite the economic challenges posed by the APC-led federal government, the governor has proven himself to be a man of the people by distributing learning materials to students and maintaining the school feeding program for public school students across the state.
This remarkable display of commitment to education highlights the governor’s dedication to fostering a brighter future for the people of Osun State.
The public is convinced of the Governor’s commitment to education development of the state and no amount of misrepresentation will distort the reality of great happenings within the Osun education sector under Governor Adeleke.
