UNIMED To Host 5th Inaugural Lecture
The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Ondo State, the first specialized University of Medical Sciences in Nigeria, will host her 5th Inaugural Lecture on Tuesday, 10th September, 2024 by 11.00am at TETFund Lecture Theatre, Laje Campus of the institution.
The Inaugural Lecture to be delivered by Professor Teslim Ayodele Onigbinde is titled “Myriad of Pain and Disability: The Therapeutic Effects of the Fingers and the Needle-Free Injection”.
Prof Onigbinde is a specialist physiotherapist in Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, and in the rare field of Rehabilitative Pharmacotherapeutics. He has specific interest in transdermal delivery of relevant drugs through the skin using procedure of iontophoresis. He has developed tools for the quantification of specific doses for topical medications.
The Inaugural Lecturer, an accomplished academic and physiotherapist, according to the institution Public Relations Officer, Isaac Oluyi, will interrogate the question: Must we experience pain, despite that pain has been there even before birth and at delivery?
The Inaugural Lecture will be under the distinguished chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Adesegun Fatusi and is open to the general public.
