Osun Begins Construction Of Abandoned 33KV Feeder Line

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke yesterday launched the construction and relocation of the Obokun 33KV feeder line from Osunjela to Ilesa West Local Government Area of the state.

The project was once awarded by the past administration in 2013 but was later abandoned. Eleven years later, Adeleke approved the completion of the project. The governor told the contractor to deliver on schedule, saying:

“As a government committed to the welfare of the people, it is our focus to bring economic light to the people of Osun State. “I am delighted to once again launch the construction of another abandoned project for the benefit of our people.

Our gathering today is a reaffirmation of our policy of easing life challenges and strengthening the economic well-being of our people.

“I was told this project was abandoned for the past 11 years. “In that period, our people of Obokun and adjacent areas suffered untold hardship, blackout and economic loss.

From today, that era of darkness has come to an end. Light has come and darkness has vanished. “We have a robust plan to transform the state energy and electricity market through appropriate policy and legislation.”
