There’ll Be Constant Raiding Of Black Spots In Osun – CP Isyaku

The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mr Isyaku Mohammed has urged the stakeholder, and other security agencies in the state to join hand with command in making the state a home of peace for all to live and trade business.
He said the security of the state is collective responsibility of all, calling on traditional rulers, youths leaders, students, public figure and other security agencies to work with him in making the state a hot ground for criminals to breed.
Muhammad who was just posted to the state made the call on Friday while addressing journalist at the police headquarters in Osogbo, capital of Osun
He stressed that he has been briefed on the state of security and prevalent crimes such as cultism , rape, defilement, communal clashes , land grabbing among others, saying with the support of spirited officers , other security agencies and stakeholders the state won’t be a haven for criminal to breed.
Muhammad also said the command will embark on constant raiding of major joint points, black spot and criminals hideouts in the state .
He noted that he has directed all formations to draw up action plans to actualize a mission that will instantly arrest prevalent crimes in their areas to the barest minimum.
The Statement reads”
This occasion offers me an opportunity to meet with you, the Fourth Estate of the Realm, and invite you to share in my mission of making Osun state a safe haven and home of peace for all who live and carry-on legitimate businesses therein.
“Together we shall all chat a good course in policing the State; and I therefore, solicit for your generous cooperation in sustaining the already existing strong synergy and good working relationship between you and the officers of the Command.
“Gentlemen of the Press, I want to clearly state that as the chief law enforcer of the state, my mission is to bring to reality the vision of the Inspector-General of Police of zero tolerance to corruption, a secured environment for citizens to thrive, policing with International best practices, upholding the Rule of Law, and Respect for fundamental Human Rights of all citizens.
“All these I shall strive hard to achieve, especially with the support of team-spirited Officers and Men I met in the Command, together with the cooperation of other security agencies in the state and stakeholders such as the traditional rulers, religious leaders, public spirited associations, students and youth leaders etc; as security is a collective responsibility. I have no doubt that, together we shall fight all criminal elements in the State to a standstill and Osun State will not be a safe haven for criminal to breed.
“On arrival, I received briefings on the security state of the Command, especially with respect to pockets of prevalent crimes such as: Cultism, Rape/ Defilement, Land Grabbing, Communal clashes etc., which I believe are surmountable with determined support of the good people of the State and you as the Fourth Estate of the Realm.
“To this end, I shall provide credible leadership that is professional, responsive and accountable to the people through intelligence-led, community-oriented, and robust visibility policing strategies. As such and as a veritable point to launch my strategy, I have directed all formations to draw up action plans to actualize this mission that will instantly arrest prevalent crimes in their areas to the barest minimum. We shall be proactive in our policing by embarking on constant raiding of black spots/criminal hideouts, based on intelligence at our disposal.
“This will be immediately followed by a tour of the formations for on the ground/spot assessment of every locality within the state to ascertain their peculiarities, as I lead this mission of keeping the state safe, from the front.
My special appeal to you, gentlemen of the Press, is to state categorically here that I am very open to constructive criticisms and I welcome all manners of suggestions that will aid my administration in providing better police services to the good people of Osun State. I therefore invite you to join forces with me to make the State a peace-haven.
“I wish to pledge to the Government of Osun State that, under my watch I shall entrench good working relationship with the people of the state to achieve our common goal of making the State peaceful and conducive for all to live and do genuine businesses in; an atmosphere of peace that will bring about meaningful development and progress to the state.
‘Finally, I sincerely appreciate the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP KAYODE ADEOLU EGBETOKUN, Ph.D, NPM, who found me worthy to be posted to Osun State. It is my pledge to uphold his great vision of creating a modern Police Force that conforms to international best practices that the nation will be proud of.
“In conclusion, let me on behalf of the Officers and Men of the Command thank you for coming and enjoin you to be objective in your reportage in line with the ethics of your profession, while reaffirming our commitment to serve the good people of Osun State with a renewed vigour.
