Aregbesola’s Aide Distributes Free Uniform to School, Pledges Support to Physically Challenge

In a bid to complement the effort of the Osun state Government in its quest to provide qualitative education to the students of the state, former commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties in Osun state, Dr. Basiru Ajibola, on Tuesday donated school uniform to about 200 students of Laro Middle School, Osogbo, Osun state capital.
Ajibola also distributed 64 school uniforms to Special Needs pupils at the School of the Special needs, where he promised to always support the school.
The Doctor of Law explained that the gesture was to complements the effort of Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s education programme and to give back to the school that impacted knowledge on him.
While advising the pupils, Dr Ajibola said that there was need for the pupils in the state to face their study, saying the present administration under leadership of Aregbesola is aimed at producing total man who will not just be literate, but be educated enough to effect positive impact in the state and the nation as a whole.
Dr Ajibola who described education as important element that can bring development to any society, stressed that the dream of the present administration was to make the pupils and entire students of the renowned scholars in the future so that they can be a pride to Osun state and the entire country.
The former commissioner who finished his secondary school at the Laro Grammar School in 1988, said that he has achieved a lot in life with the knowledge he received from his alma mata, admonishing the pupils to always put their best so as become successful persons in life.
While appreciating teachers of the school for their effort at making the students great, he urged the teachers to improve more in their teaching.
Dr Ajibola condemned reports in some secondary schools in the state where students were said to have been beating teachers, advising the students to shun violence and any vices that can jeopardize their future.
In his response, one of the Principals, Pastor Siyanbola Afolabi, expressed joy over the gesture by old student of the school, advising government and leaders to always remember their alma matta.
He urged the former commissioner to use his influence in the law profession and form Alumni Association where old students of school will be able to come together and contribute to the development of the school.
Afolabi who also appealed to Basiru to facilitate dredging of borehole water and fencing of the school, added that teachers and students are prone to disease and danger by going to the bush to defecate.
Dr Basiru however promised to do whatever in his capacity to make the school one of the best in Osun state.
Speaking at the school for the handicapped, Basiru ordered immediate purchase of big refrigerator to the school, promising that he would continue to visit the school for the handicapped.
