Use Your Strength, Powers To Defend Yorubaland From External Attacks, Aare Gani Adams Charges OPC Members

The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams on Thursday charged members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) to use all their strength and powers in defending Yorubaland from external attacks.

Iba Adams who made the charge at the Osun OPC state congress held in Osogbo, further pleaded with them to always embrace the principle and ideology in which the foundation of the group is laid.

The Aare Onakakanfo who is also the coordinator of OPC, remarked, “I urge you all not to forget the ideology of OPC, our commitment is to ensure that external forces never invade or outrun the Yoruba people. This is the foundation of OPC and we must remain faithful to it.

“As genuine OPC members in Osun, you must support the new coordinator with a view to ensure that the group remains committed to its ideology.

He commended the new Coordinator, Prince Emmanuel Aboderin for representing the group well.

“We must collectively protect OPC from both internal and external acrimony, doing this amount to protecting Yorubaland. Continue to mobilise more members and instill in them our ideology.”

He also called for commitment, discipline and dedication to duties and assured that the group would continue to work for a more secure Yoruba land where people can work and earn a legitimate income.

“Always remain committed to its primary responsibility of keeping Yorubaland safe from external aggression and I advise the leadership of OPC, especially in Osun State, to embark on membership recruitment and training of the new recruits to get them properly integrated into the group’s setup”.

“I further want to charge both old and new members to stick to the ideology of the group and eschew infighting for you to be able to perform their duties as security operatives,” he submitted.

Delivering his lecture, Moruf Olatunji Abiola, OPC Coordinator in Oyo State urged members of the OPC to be good ambassadors of Congress.

Speaking on Dynamic Leadership, Abiola said dynamic leaders are capable of capable of initiating significant change in an organisation.

He urged the leadership of OPC at the States, Local Government as well as ward levels to to be compassionate, always look good and be good listeners.

He charged them to be problem solvers instead of creating one.

Earlier, the Osun State Coordinator of OPC in Osun Prince Emmanuel Aboderin appreciated members of the group for their unalloyed support since he assumed office as the Coordinator.

He promised to use everything within his reach to promote the congress.
