Breaking] Fuel Subsidy: FG Resumes Talks With NLC, TUC
The Federal Government has resumed negotiations with both the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress over steps being taken to alleviate the sufferings associated with the withdrawal of fuel subsidy by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
NLC and NLC had after meeting with representatives of government at the State House, Abuja two weeks ago suspended its planned nationwide strike action to protest last month’s withdrawal of fuel subsidy.
At the ongoing meeting in the State House are the NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero; his TUC counterpart, Festus Osifo and some other labour leaders.
On the side of the government are the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, Mr Dele Alake and Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari.
A communique is expected to be issued at the end of the meeting.
