Kingsley Omoyeni

In furtherance of the efforts of the government of Osun to get all agencies of government and every stakeholder on board the Treasury Single Account TSA, all is now set for the training of the state’s tertiary institutions on the software that will be used for the process.

This is just as the Supervisor for Ministry of Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji charged all stakeholders involved in governance to fully comply with the TSA policy for the overall economic development of the state.

Mr Oyebamiji stated this during the weekly meeting of the finance conglomerate held at the board room of the Ministry of finance.

He said as long as the the new software has been introduced to the tertiary institutions and they have bought into the idea, the next thing is for them to be trained on the workings of the application for smooth take off.

The Supervisor who is also in charge of Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives and Empowerment said each of the six tertiary institutions in the state are expected to nominate a technical persons who are to use the system for them to be trained and tested on their competence.

Mr Oyebamiji stated further that the Governor Adebgoyega Oyetola’s administration is not ready to leave any stone unturned in the move to block all financial leakages and make every government stakeholder prudent in the process of delivering good governance to the people.

He added that after the training which is expected to commence anytime from now, an approval will be sought from the Governor for the tertiary institutions to go live with the new software.

According to him, “Now that we have been able to bring all the six tertiary institutions in the state on board and make them understand the workings of the TSA through the new software, I think what is next is to train them on its and how to effectively use it.

“We need to get them trained and start using the the new application as soon as possible for our own good. We need to start shooting up the Internally Generated Revenue of our state by blocking every available leakage that we can find.

“The fact is that there is no going back on the TSA policy, we have come too far to relent, we must work assiduously to see it through. Once the TSA policy is institutionalized things will fall in place and posterity will judge us all.

“The TSA policy is the way to go if we want to block leakages and boost our revenue. It’s not as if Osun not accruing enough funds internally, but a lot of these funds are being wasted through leakages, the time is right for us to get things right and we must be determined to do it for the benefit of all”. Oyebamiji explained.

The Technical Assistant to the state government on TSA, Mr Adetona Adefokun who stressed that the state is long overdue for full compliance with the TSA policy said with the new software in place in the state’s tertiary institutions, the revenue of the state is bound to improve.
