LG Election: Osun NNPP Urges Aggrieved APC, PDP Members To Join Party To Salvage The State
Osun state chapter of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has called on members from other political parties to join them in order to salvage the state from the present political quagmire.
It would be recalled that the perceived imposition of chairmanship and councillorship candidates for the forthcoming local government election is presently causing uproar within members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state.
While members of All Progressives Congress (APC) are already alleging their leaders of planning to impose unpopular candidates on them across the state.
But in a statement released by the party’s Acting Secretary, Celestinah Adegbaju, NNPP is the only party that can give equal rights to members without discrimination.
According to him, the forthcoming council poll would have a notable effect on the development at the grassroots especially now that the federal government has given autonomy to the local government.
In view of this, Celestinah stressed that it is imperative for a serious-minded political party to approach it with one accord by presenting acceptable candidates.
His words, ‘We implore members of both ruling PDP and APC that felt cheated in the ongoing process of fielding candidates for council elections to join us.
‘NNPP is a party for all and we have great chances in the forthcoming local government election in Osun state and the 2026 gubernatorial election.
‘We uphold the tenets of democracy and we believe in giving members equal opportunities without fear of favour of godfathers or giving undue opportunity to any leader.
‘We wish to make it clear that our Councillorship Aspirants for the council election will pay #50,000 for intention form while the nomination form is #100,000.
‘Chairmanship aspirants intention form is #100,000 while the nomination form is #200,000.
‘Female aspirants under NNPP will pay for intention form only while the nomination form is free’
