UNIOSUN: Adeleke Reconstitutes Governing Council, Oladipo Retains Chair
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dissolved the Governing Council of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) and immediately reconstituted the council as part of efforts to strengthen the institution’s governance structure.
The development was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Osogbo by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
According to the statement, the reconstitution was aimed at ensuring continuity and preventing any gap in the administration and operations of the university.
The newly constituted Governing Council is chaired by Sooko (Prof.) Adewale Abiodun Oladipo, who also headed the dissolved council.
Other members of the reconstituted council are Alhaji Gbadegesin Lawal; Her Excellency, Otunba Titi Laoye-Ponnle; Mr Akinola Franklin Omoniyi; Chief Funminiyi Awotide; Mr Orija Samuel Adebayo; and Mrs Adewale Adetayo Bola.
Governor Adeleke charged the new council to sustain the university’s outstanding record and work closely with the management to promote innovation, excellence and further institutional development.
The governor also expressed confidence that the reconstituted council would contribute positively to the continued growth and global standing of the university.
The inauguration of the new Governing Council is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 31, 2026.
