Sunday Igboho Threatens To Name Politicians Behind Oriire Attack If Violence Persists
Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, has alleged that he knows the politicians behind the recent abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, vowing to expose them if they fail to desist from their alleged activities.
Igboho made the claim while hosting newly elected executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Ibadan, where he expressed concern over the growing wave of insecurity and kidnappings in parts of the country.
According to him, some politicians are allegedly providing financial support and ammunition to criminal groups involved in kidnapping and other violent crimes, a development he described as disturbing and unacceptable.
“I know the politicians behind them, and if they do not stop perpetrating their evil acts, I will mention them all. The politicians behind them are the ones giving them ammunition and money,” he said.
The activist also disclosed that he had volunteered to participate in efforts to rescue the abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire but was allegedly prevented from doing so by the Oyo State Government.
He claimed that he was informed that the kidnappers had threatened to kill the victims if he attempted any rescue operation, a development he said forced him to halt his planned intervention.
Igboho further revealed that he had secured federal approval for the operations of his security outfit, Iru Ekun Security Network, but alleged that the outfit had faced opposition from the state government despite its objective of complementing existing security efforts.
His remarks come amid heightened concern over the abduction of dozens of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, with security agencies continuing efforts to secure the release of the victims and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
