Lagos Driver Remanded Over Alleged Abduction, Sexual Assault Of 14-Year-Old
A 34-year-old Lagos driver, Segun Falola, has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre following his arraignment before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court over the alleged abduction and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.
Falola was brought before the court by the police on allegations bordering on abduction and defilement.
The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the alleged offences occurred between April 3 and April 24 in the Alakuko area of Lagos State.
According to the prosecutor, Falola allegedly abducted the girl while she was travelling from Alakuko to Agege, lured her into a house and sexually assaulted her.
Ademigbuji further alleged that the defendant subsequently took the victim to Oyo State and kept her there.
He told the court that the suspect was eventually arrested after the victim’s mobile phone was tracked to Oyo State.
The prosecutor said the alleged offences contravened Sections 137 and 268 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
However, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs C.M. Kushanu, declined to take Falola’s plea.
She subsequently ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The court adjourned the matter until September 30, 2026, for further proceedings.
