Another man, identified as Taoheed Ojoiku, has reportedly been shot dead following a suspected clash between rival groups in the Ita Olokan area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The incident reportedly occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, throwing the area into confusion as residents reportedly scampered for safety.

Ojoiku was said to have sustained gunshot injuries during the attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. However, he was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.

The latest incident comes barely two days after two persons were reportedly killed in a suspected cult-related clash in the Owo Eba area of Osogbo on Friday.

Although the circumstances surrounding Sunday’s shooting remained unclear as of the time of filing this report, there were indications that the incident might be connected to the recent violence in the state capital.

However, this has not been independently confirmed.

The latest killing has raised fresh concerns over the spate of suspected cult-related violence and the safety of residents in parts of Osogbo.

Further details, including the circumstances surrounding the attack and any possible response from security agencies, were still being awaited as of the time of filing this report.
