Tinubu Departs Nigeria For France, Begins Three-nation Trip
President Bola Tinubu has departed Nigeria for France, kicking off a three-nation official visit.
The presidential jet took off from the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday.
The trip marks the beginning of a broader diplomatic tour that will also take the Nigerian leader to Kenya and Rwanda.
According to the presidency, Tinubu is expected to first stop in France before proceeding to Nairobi, where he will participate in the Africa–France Summit scheduled for May 11 to May 12. The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on energy transition, climate action, digital transformation and economic partnerships.
After the Kenya engagement, the president will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum slated for May 14 to May 15, where global business leaders and policymakers are expected to discuss investment and economic growth across the continent.
The presidency said the visit is part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s economic ties and attract foreign investment through high-level engagements with global leaders and investors.
