2027: Mustapha Muhydeen Declares For Osun Central Senate Seat On LP Platform
A chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), Hon. Mustapha Adebayo Muhydeen, has declared his intention to contest the Osun Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
Muhydeen, in a statement issued on Monday, said his decision followed consultations with his family, political associates, party leaders and stakeholders across the 10 Local Government Areas (LGAs) that make up the senatorial district.
He said he was offering himself for service with a commitment to providing effective representation and pursuing policies aimed at improving the lives of residents of the district.
According to him, his legislative agenda, if elected, will focus on youth empowerment, educational development, quality healthcare and economic prosperity.
The LP aspirant said his ambition should be seen as a collective project, urging party members, leaders, stakeholders and residents of Osun Central to support his aspiration.
He also appealed for prayers, counsel and what he described as the “unalloyed support” of the people as he begins his campaign for the senatorial seat.
Muhydeen expressed gratitude to God and acknowledged the role of political stakeholders and members of his party in the consultations leading to his declaration.
He said he was determined to approach the contest with integrity, courage and a strong sense of responsibility if given the mandate to represent Osun Central at the National Assembly.
The aspirant called on the electorate across the 10 LGAs of the district to support his vision for improved representation and greater opportunities for young people.
Muhydeen formally made his declaration in a statement dated September 14, 2026, signalling the commencement of his bid for the Osun Central Senatorial District seat under the LP platform.
